MUNIYAL AYURVEDA GARDEN TEMPLE

Due to its holistic approach, Ayurveda is now becoming an international healing art. Many countries are seriously thinking of implementing Ayurveda as a major health science. Since the main raw materials of Ayurvedic formulations are medicinal plants, and they are grown mainly in India, the Commercial Cultivation of these plants is guaranteed to garner in a rich source of income in the near future.

To cater to this demand, the Dr. U. Krishna Muniyal Memorial Trust (R) developed the novel concept of the Herbal Gardens. The Research centre and the manufacturing units source their raw materials from these herbal gardens. Steps have also been taken to promote the commercial cultivation of herbs in a controlled atmosphere. Preservation and extensive cultivation of rare and essential medicinal plants is done in a natural way so that the raw material supply to the production unit is self-sufficient and of superior quality.

Herbal gardens, where medicinal plants are grown, provide a ready source of raw materials for the preparation of such Ayurvedic medicine. Given the bright future and the ever growing popularity of Ayurvedic medicine, the demand for herbal raw materials is expected to increase by leaps and bounds.

The Trust will provide scientific guidance, good saplings, organic manure, sensible maintenance, drip irrigation & finally the marketing arrangements for the finished products.

The minimum requirement is 10 acres of land, preferably agricultural. The income from the herbal garden starts in 6 months, and the returns ensure that the entire capital amount, with interest, is recovered within 5 years, with profit. This is the case if the market is confined to India. The returns will be much higher and faster if the international market is exploited

THE CONCEPT :

The concept of Herbal Gardens is a novel idea of the Trust. Presently it involves villagers in and around Muniyal, Perdoor and Brahmavara, covering an area of about 500 acres, where the company has taken steps to preserve and protect invaluable and rare medicinal herbs. The trust has adopted organic farming methods for the cultivation of these medicinal herbs, and proposes to get ‘Organic Certification’ from International Organic Certifying Agencies.

THE GARDEN :

In ancient India, Herbal Gardens were developed following a specific system of “Vaastu”. Ancient Herbal gardens lead to SPIRITUAL UPLIFTMENT of the surroundings. These gardens absorb cosmic energy and create a temple atmosphere, which brings about peace of mind. This creates positive vibrations and there will be less tension and more coherence between workers & management. This results in qualitative improvement in work and increased productivity.
